New Menu Items
On Sept. 9th we tried out three new delicious pies. They all sold out quick! The first one to sell out and seemed to be a customer favorite was the Sugar Cream Pie.

Do you have other recipe as well? We are currently looking vegan, vegetarian, sugar free, gluten free and other options. We were having issues with submissions not getting delivered to our email, but things seem to be working now. Apologies to anyone who tried to contact us through the web site. First of all the entire staff at My Just Desserts Alton would like to extend our utmost gratitude to all of you, our new customers and loyal regulars for making our first month such a success. We have been busy everyday for the entire month. We had a great start off with Restaurant Week. We were packed with waiting lines almost every day. Now we are in the middle of KIDcation with only a few more days remaining. Hurry and bring the young ones on for their free Mississippi Mud Brownie (while supplies last). Delicious!

We here at My Just Desserts Alton are busy behind the scenes preparing our re-launch. With new ownership comes new ideas, and we are full of them, If you come in this week for lunch you may start to see some of our ideas and changes taking place. Our Grand Opening will be taking place next weekend, August 10th, 11th and 12th. You are not going to want to miss this. We are going to have food specials, drawings, give-a-ways, door prizes and more! Make sure you make it point to stop by and see us. You may also want to try and be here when we first open (hint hint). Remember we are open from 11am to 4pm and serve lunch until 3pm.

My Just Desserts has gone through a lot of behind the scenes changes this week. If you are currently not in the "know," you will be now! MJD's owner, Ann Badasch, has decided to retire and pass the pie plate to our head baker Yvonne Campbell. While Ann will pop in from time to time and be involved with our Lincoln Dinners, she will surely be missed by all the staff. She was a one-of-a-kind boss that would help first-time job seekers by hiring them, and graciously re-hire former employees when they were in need. At any given point, in her 30 plus years in business, she has even employed family members - from her children to daughter-in-law to grandchildren. She will be missed by her loyal customers, that range from all over the region. Ann is not only widely-known for her chicken-salad sandwiches and pies, but also her chair caning store that started in the basement of the restaurant. Her customers come from far and wide, and she has built an extensive clientele.
July 2nd, 2018 was Yvonne's big day. Yvonne Campbell has worked at My Just Desserts since 2011 and became our head baker in 2013, with the retirement of our long-time baker Liz. She has worked extensively with Ann to make sure that My Just Desserts keeps the same great feel for the community, plus some added surprises in the future. Yvonne would like to extend her gratitude and said, "Thank you for a great first week and for all the support and encouragement from everyone. We are gearing up for Grand Opening in August, so watch our blog, social media or our newsletter for more information."
Just a reminder that My Just Desserts will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in honor of Independence Day. Everyone have a fun and safe holiday. We will see you all for lunch on Thursday.
